236. Dua said to someone (Male) seen wearing a new garment #2
اَبْلَ وَاَخْلَقْ
Transliteration: Abla wa akhlaqTranslation: May you live so long that your dress gets worn out.

اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِيْ كَسَانِيْ هَذَا الثَّوْبَ وَرَزَقَنِيْهِ مِنْ غَيْرِ حَوْلٍ مِّنِّيْ وَلَا قُوَّةٍ
Transliteration: Alhamdu lillaahil-ladhee kasaanee haadhaa aththawba wa razaqaneehi min ghayri hawlim-minnee wa laa quwwahTranslation: All Praise is for Allah who has clothed me with this garment and provided it for me, with no power nor might from myself.
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "If anyone says this while wearing clothes, his previous sins will be forgiven."

اَللّٰهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ اَنْتَ كَسَوْتَنِيْهِ اَسْاَلُكَ خَيْرَهٗ وَخَيْرَ مَا صُنِعَ لَهٗ وَاَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهٖ وَشَرِّ مَا صُنِعَ لَهٗ
Transliteration: Allaahumma lakal-hamdu 'Anta kasawtaneehi, 'as'aluka khayrahu wa khayra maa suni'a lahu, wa 'a'oodhu bika min sharrihi wa sharri ma suni'a lahuTranslation: O Allah, for You is all praise, You have clothed me with it, I ask You for the good of it and the good for which it was made, and I seek refuge with You from the evil of it and the evil for which it was made.

تُبْلٰی وَيُخْلِفُ اللّٰهُ تَعَالٰی
Transliteration: Tubla- wa yukhliful-laahu ta'aalaaTranslation: May you wear it out and Allah (Ta'aala) replace it [with another].
The Companions used to make this dua when they saw someone wearing new clothes.

بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ
Transliteration: BismillaahTranslation: In the name of Allah.
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: When one of you undresses or is uncovered, the veil between the human genitals and the eyes of the jinn is called 'Bismillah'.

Umm Khalid (RA), daughter of Khalid Ibn Sayed (RA), said, 'A garment was brought to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), with a black design on it. Then he said, "Who can we wear this dress?" When the Companions were silent, the Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Bring Umm Khalid." Then when I was brought to the Prophet (ﷺ), he put the garment on me with his own hands. Then he said twice- (The dua is mentioned above) This is what happened when Umme Khalid emigrated from Ethiopia to Medina with her father, when she was very young.

اِلْبَسْ جَدِيْدًا وَّعِشْ حَمِيْدًا وَّمُتْ شَهِيْدًا
Transliteration: ilbas jadeedan, wa‛ish 'hameedan wa mut shaheedanTranslation: Wear anew, live commendably and die a shaheed.
Narrated Ibn Umar (RA): The Prophet (ﷺ) saw a white dress on Umar and said, “Is this your dress new, or does it look like it was washed?” He said, “It is rather new.” Then the Prophet (ﷺ) said - (The dua is mentioned above) Umar (RA) said, “O Messenger of Allah! I am praying the same for you.”

اِلْبَسْ جَدِيْدًا وَّعِشْ حَمِيْدً وَّمُتْ شَهِيْدًا وَّيَرْزُقُكَ اللّٰهُ قُرَّةَ عَيْنٍ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْاٰخِرَةِ
Transliteration: ilbas jadeedan, wa‛ish 'hameedan wa mut shaheedan wa iyarjuqukallahu qurrata ‘ainin feeduniya wal akhirahTranslation: Wear anew, live commendably and die a shaheed and may Allah give you those things in this duniya and in hereafter which will cool your eyes.
